1. What is The Homecoming Method?
The Homecoming Method is a veterinarian-developed protocol designed to guide you through your dog’s first 30 days at home — a critical period that shapes long-term adjustment. It provides clear, structured guidance to help your dog settle calmly, safely, and predictably, without overwhelming you with conflicting advice.
2. Is this suitable for all dogs?
This protocol is designed for newly adopted dogs of all ages and backgrounds. Every dog adjusts at their own pace. Some may move through the phases smoothly, while others may need more time or a step back at certain points. This is normal and expected.
3. Is this a substitute for veterinary advice?
This kit provides structured, veterinarian-developed guidance to support your dog’s adjustment to a new home. It is not a substitute for individual veterinary or behaviour advice. If you have concerns about your dog’s health or behaviour at any stage, seek professional support. Individual progress will vary.
4. How do I clean and use the lick mat?
- Supervise your dog during use. This is not a chew toy.
- Rinse or wash after each use to prevent residue build-up.
- Dishwasher safe (top rack) or wash with warm soapy water.
- Allow to dry fully before reuse.
- Discontinue use if damaged.
5. Is the lick mat suitable for all dogs?
